It is a smaIl village on Soğanlı road, 9 km. east of Derinkuyu. The underground city is not completely dug up. Derikuyu looks like an underground city as a whole. it was used as settling area for sometime as underground city which is formed by rocky covers and a few divisions. It has an air shaft. There lies enough water on the bottom of this air shaft. It is like a well which is used for the water.

There is a Kervansaray (Caravanserai) in Tilköy, built in the period of Seljuks.. The road of the caravan from Istanbul to Iran was passing by this place. Sultanhan, Yeşilhisar, İncesu, Tilköy, Doğala, travelling between Sivas-Kayseri and Konya.
