Gülşehir is a small town 6.000 (six thousand) population between Kepez Mountain and Kızılırmak river 20 km. northwest of Nevşehir. While going from Gülşehir to Nevşehir, you see the wonderful view of Açıksaray in 2 km. Some parts of Açıksaray, which carry the evidences of the 6th and the 7th centuries art concept, have been destroyed because of erosion. You can see Saint Jean Church and a tunnel which is 200 m. long in this area.
