Church Of The Sandals (Karanlık Kilise), Sandels Church

It is easily recognized with its iron stairway following the Karanlık Kilise. Although it has two pillars, transverse vault is used. it is thought that it was the same period with the Karanlık Kilise. The compositions of the frescoes are the same with the ones in the Karanlık Kilise. The colors are warmer because of more light there. Foot anatomies are especially painted with care. The differences from the frescoes of Karanlık Kilise are the scenes such as going to the Cross and descent from the Cross, and the hospitality of Abraham, which were taken from the Old Testament.

The nartex has collapsed and the frescoes are damaged.
