It is a town with 3.500 population on Nevşehir-Avanos road. The town first founded in the caves of rocks, then got down to the foot because of the erosion. it lies at a point which overlooks Cappadoica as a whole. It is surrounded by vineyards and apricot gardens. Since you can look the Cappadocia Valley there on the top, and especially that you can watch the wonderful sunrise and the mysterious and magnificent scenes that sunset forms on the fairy chimneys by light and shadows make one feel that it's not easy to tell by words.

Uchisar Castle is still being destroyed by erosion, but its historical value has reached us today. The little park, hotels, motels and pensions and Kaya Oteli (Rocky Hotel-L'hotel Roche) is being run by club Mediterranne. Two floors of it were built in 1969 by carving in the rocks. The third floor has been built by making it as similar as the original as the additional floor while needed. While the hotel has the view of a deep valley and the pigeon houses, sunrise and sunset are viewed from a different point and it is possible to watch the wonderful beauties of fairy chimneys.
