Orta Hisar (Ortahisar) Turkey
It is the name of two castles built in the period when the Christians needed and of a town around these castles having nearly a thousand people population. it is 16 km. to Nevşehir and 6 km. to Ürgüp. When climbed to Ortahisar Castle having 23 stories, geologic formation and structure of Cappadocia region can easily be viewed.
There is a tunnel which links Ortahisar Castle to İshak Castle, 300 m. far from each other. Probably the Christians were using both of these castles for cheating their enemies. On the entrance from the main road, there are cave stores used for storing citrus fruits on the left and right. These stores are like natural fridges and they have the capacity of providing one year's food need of Turkey and even the export surplus.
There are two churches in Ortahisar named Harım and Sarıca. You can go Halaşdere Kilisesi (Halaşdere Church), Balkan Kilisesi (Balkan Church), Pancarlı Kilise (Pancarlı Church), Tavşanlı Kilise (Tavşanlı Church), Cambazlı Kilise (Cambazlı Church), Kepez Kilise (Kepez Church), Güvercinlik, Mineral Water Beds, etc. from Ortahisar.
